Fleischmann Planetarium
The Fleischmann Planetarium was originally built in 1963 on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno. It is located at 1664 N Virginia St, Reno, NV 89557. The building features a 360-degree projector that provides horizon-to-horizon images. The images are created using time-lapse photography. Today, the Fleischmann Planetarium is one of the most popular attractions in the Reno area.

The museum is a historic landmark that offers an exciting and educational visit. It offers Full-Dome Theater shows and hands-on exhibits. The latest technology, such as the Spitz SciDome digital projector, allows visitors to experience 3-D images at the center. The museum opened in 1963 and is a great place to learn about astronomy and the solar system.
Located near downtown Reno, the Fleischmann Planetarium & Science Center has a gift shop and full-dome theater. In addition to the planetarium and large-format films, the facility also houses an astronomical museum and a free public observatory. It is open daily and offers various special events and exhibitions.
The Planetarium is a great place to take the whole family, from toddlers to curious adults. Admission is $10 for adults and $15 for seniors, which includes three short video features shown in the 360-degree theater. If you’re traveling from outside the area, it’s a good idea to purchase a parking permit. The Nevada Historical Society and University of Nevada both own parking lots near the Planetarium. If you’d rather drive, you can also take the Sierra Spirit bus to the museum. The ride costs about 25 cents.
The Fleischmann Planetarium offers two shows daily. One shows focuses on the night sky, while the second focuses on constellations. During the show, a second show focuses on current objects in the night sky. Those who come with younger children may find the 30 minute lecture difficult to sit through. A second show takes place at 5 p.m.
